The best Diwali gifts for corporates in 2026 are the ones people keep using after the festival. That means branded desk items under ₹500, dry fruit and diya hampers from ₹500 to ₹1,000, electronics and Kanpur leather goods from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500, and luxury hampers above that. Diwali is on Sunday, 8 November this year and Dhanteras is on Friday, 6 November. If your gifts need your logo on them, lock the order by mid-October.
This guide sorts 25 ideas by budget. It also covers the change to the employee gift tax limit that most HR teams haven't caught yet, and it ends with a week-by-week order timeline.
Before you pick a gift: 3 things that decide everything
1. Who is it for? Employees want something useful or something they can share at home. Clients want something that reminds them of you without looking like an advertisement. Vendors and channel partners fall somewhere in between.
2. The per-head budget, not the total budget. Divide your total by headcount first. A ₹3 lakh budget for 400 employees is ₹750 a head, which puts you in a very different gift range than 60 clients at ₹5,000 each.
3. How much branding. For employees, a logo on the product is fine. For clients, put the logo on the packaging and the card, not the gift itself. A client will keep a leather wallet with a small debossed mark. They'll give away one with a large printed logo.
Diwali corporate gifts under ₹500
Good for large teams, factory and field staff, and dealer networks where headcount runs into hundreds.
- Brass or terracotta diya set with a printed sleeve. It's the most traditional choice, it gets used on the day itself, and the sleeve carries your brand.
- Branded pen and diary combo. It stays on a desk for the whole year. See our custom pens and customised diaries
- 2027 desk calendar. Diwali comes about 7 weeks before the new year, so a calendar handed out now sits on desks for 12 months. See custom calendar printing
- Dry fruit pouch (150 to 250 g) with a custom label. Cheap to make at scale and nobody refuses it.
- Scented candle in a tin. Light, doesn't break in transit, and easy to label.
- Plantable seed-paper greeting card with a small sweet box. Works well for sustainability-focused brands.
Corporate gifts from ₹500 to ₹1,000
This is the most common band for office staff and small client lists.
- Small festive hamper: dry fruits, a mithai box and 2 diyas in a printed carton. See our festive gift hampers
- Laser-engraved steel bottle. Engraving doesn't wear off the way print does.
- Diary and metal pen set in a gift box. A step up from idea 2 and suitable for managers.
- Printed jute or canvas tote with festive snacks inside. The bag gets reused long after the snacks are gone. See custom bags
- Wireless charging pad with a logo. One of the cheapest ways into electronic corporate gifts.
- Tea or coffee gift box with a branded mug. Safe for mixed teams where food preferences vary.
Corporate gifts from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500
For senior staff, key vendors and mid-value clients.
- Premium dry fruit hamper in a wooden or brass tray. The tray stays in the house after the dry fruits are eaten.
- Power bank or TWS earbuds with a logo. These are the top requests in electronic corporate gifts. Ask for the warranty card in the box.
- Brass puja thali set. Traditional and used every year, which makes it a good client gift.
- Kanpur leather wallet, belt or card holder. Kanpur is one of India's biggest leather centres, so you get better craft at this price than a mass-market brand gives you. Deboss the logo small.
- Custom hoodie. Winter starts right after Diwali in North India, so this one gets worn. See custom hoodies and caps
- Work-from-anywhere kit: a diary, pen, bottle and cable organiser in one branded box. It's the same format as our corporate welcome kits
Luxury corporate Diwali gifts above ₹2,500
For top clients, board members and long-standing partners.
- Luxury hamper with silver-plated serveware. See luxury gift hampers
- Lakshmi-Ganesh silver coin in a presentation box. Ask for purity certification and keep it on file.
- Leather laptop bag. Something a senior client will use every working day.
- Smartwatch or fitness band. Personal and practical, and the logo can go on the box instead of the product.
- Handcrafted gift set from Uttar Pradesh artisans, such as Moradabad brass or Lucknow chikankari. It tells a story, which a generic hamper can't.
Personal touches that work at any budget
- Print each person's name on the gift. A diary or bottle with someone's name on it doesn't get passed on to anyone else.
- A handwritten note from a senior person. It costs nothing extra, and it's usually the thing people remember about the gift.
Employee gifts: the tax limit changed to ₹15,000
Under the Income-tax Rules 2026, which apply from 1 April 2026, gifts, vouchers and tokens from an employer are tax-free for the employee only while their total for the year stays under ₹15,000. The old limit was ₹5,000, and most articles online still quote that figure.
What this means in practice:
- The limit is a yearly total per employee. It is not a per-gift limit. Diwali, birthday and award gifts all count toward the same ₹15,000.
- Cash is taxable from the first rupee. The exemption only covers non-cash gifts and vouchers.
- If the total crosses the limit, the gift becomes a taxable perquisite. Payroll needs to track each employee's total.
For most companies, this means a ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 Diwali gift now fits inside the limit with plenty of room left. Confirm the details for your company with your CA. The KPMG summary of the 2026 rules is a good starting point.
One GST point: input tax credit is generally not available on goods given away as gifts (Section 17(5)(h) of the CGST Act). Budget for GST as a cost, not something you can claim back.
Client gifts: check their policy first
Many public sector undertakings, government departments and listed companies cap the value of gifts their staff can accept, and some ban gifts completely. Before you send a ₹5,000 hamper to a procurement head, ask your contact or check their vendor code of conduct. A modest, well-packed gift with a good card is safer than an expensive one the recipient has to return.
Diwali 2026 corporate gift order timeline
Diwali is 19 days later than last year, which gives you more time than usual. Here's how to plan backward from 8 November:
By this date | What to finish |
1 October | Budget, headcount and gift shortlist approved |
1 to 7 October | Samples checked, logo and artwork signed off |
15 October | Order placed for anything custom-printed or engraved |
20 to 28 October | Production, packing and quality check |
28 October to 2 November | Dispatch to outstation offices and clients |
3 to 5 November | Local deliveries and handover, before Dhanteras on 6 November |
Orders placed after about 20 October usually mean paying extra for rush production or giving up the custom branding.

How much should a company spend on Diwali gifts per employee? Most companies spend ₹500 to ₹2,500 per employee. Since the tax-free limit went up to ₹15,000 a year, there's room to go higher. Just keep the yearly total per employee under the limit.
Are Diwali gifts to employees taxable in 2026? Not if the total of all gifts and vouchers to that employee in the tax year stays under ₹15,000. Cash gifts are always taxable.
What is a good Diwali gift for clients? Something premium with subtle branding: a wooden-tray dry fruit hamper, a brass puja thali, Kanpur leather goods or a silver coin. Check the client's gifting policy first.
